ANGLES EP (+Early Access to Live Studio Videos)
Angles EP
ANGLES is so excited to share our debut EP with you! This band initially formed due to our shared experiences as music educators in New York City, and our belief that performance IS music education. While our similarities brought us together, it was in fact our differences that made this ensemble special. Beyond the diversity you can see in our ethnicity and other identities, each of our musical backgrounds are extremely varied. Carlin is a jazz pianist, Lexy is a soprano, and Darius is a classically trained bassoonist. On paper, this should have been a very difficult ensemble to make music with. Yet, we dedicated ourselves to making music across difference and uniquely found a way to combine each of the musical "angles" we brought to the table. Through this, we were able to perform for a wide range of audiences with a broad repertoire selection including European classical, new commissions, Great American Songbook, and improvisations. This EP showcases our approach to the European classical tradition, but we hope to record our other "angles" in the near future.
